I have to say, you've outdone yourself. Volume 1 is a truly fantastic fantasy love story, but volume 2 is about so much more. It's dark, magical, and exciting.

You should actually read "The Magic of the Midnight Robe," as a lot happens and prior knowledge of Volume 1 is necessary. Naima's origins, as well as why Shanini's father died, are of great importance.

Shanini is now the queen and faces a number of challenges. Women in her immediate vicinity are dying, which is a mystery, but it's also about love, magic, witchcraft, enemies, a prophecy...

The change of perspective of the two main protagonists is well done, they briefly go their separate ways but then get closer to each other bit by bit, everything fits together perfectly and the circle closes.

I'll just start with the cover. I love it! The colors, the dress, and next to volume 1 it looks amazing! The plot is fantastic. Volume 2—unlike volume 1—is more about Shanini, and Naima features less. I was a Naima fan from volume 1 and was a bit skeptical at first, but my reservations were quickly dispelled. It actually fits very well, as it was a great follow-up to the end of volume 1. So it only makes sense that it's more about Shanini. The prologue pleasantly surprised me right away, as it was exciting right from the start and you were drawn straight into the plot. In fact, the plot was exciting almost the entire time, and you could really follow along. Unfortunately, some sad things happened that made me feel sorry for the characters. Personally, I found it really hard to put the book down. The ending was just wow, and I didn't expect it to be like that. It was incredibly exciting and had a huge plot twist. But now I'd like to say something about the characters. All of them are really well-rounded. Shanini, Naima, Tarik, Zoey, and Adem (all known from book 1) were once again simply amazing! Lycian was a new addition and was also a great character. He fit the role very well and contributed greatly to the plot. So, if you're looking for a new fantasy series with a great writing style, great characters, and a great plot, this is it!
