The BERNINA Jeans Foot #8D was developed for straight stitching on firm, thick, and multi-layered materials. Its flat sole ensures smooth gliding over fabric layers and high seams, which often occur with jeans hems, pockets, canvas projects, or sailcloth. In combination with the BERNINA Dual Feed, the fabric is reliably fed from both top and bottom. This makes the foot particularly suitable for even topstitching, sturdy flat-felled seams, and precise joining seams. For the best possible needle stabilization and a particularly clean stitch pattern, it is recommended to use a straight stitch plate. The Jeans Foot #8D is designed for BERNINA 9 mm machines with Dual Feed.

Insert Jeans Foot #8D onto a compatible BERNINA 9 mm sewing machine with Dual Feed. Select a straight stitch and use a suitable, sturdy sewing machine needle for thick or multi-layered materials. For particularly precise results, the BERNINA Straight Stitch Plate is recommended.

Guide the fabric evenly and without excessive pulling under the presser foot. When sewing over thick seams, such as on jean hems or bag handles, it is advisable to reduce the speed and guide the fabric with control. When using the Straight Stitch Plate, you must only sew with the needle in the center position and a straight stitch.
