BERNINA Open Embroidery Foot #20D

The BERNINA Open Embroidery Foot #20D combines an open design with a specially shaped sole for creative sewing techniques. Because the needle, stitch line, and fabric edge remain visible, decorative stitches and appliques can be guided with significantly more control. The trapezoidal recess on the underside creates space for denser and more立体 stitches and supports even fabric feed. Depending on the project, choose a decorative stitch, an appliqué seam, or a suitable program for decorative sewing. The open front makes it easier to follow markings, lines, and motifs accurately. The foot offers a good view of the sewing area, especially for appliqués, Richelieu or circular embroidery, and when sewing on ribbons.

Before starting, stitch width, stitch length, needle, and thread should be tested on a fabric scrap. For fine, stretchy, or unstable fabrics, suitable stabilization for the project is recommended. For materials that do not glide well over the needle plate, the special BERNINA zigzag foot with non-stick sole #56 may be the better choice.
