Bernina Needle Plate Spring incl. Screw

The original BERNINA needle plate spring is a compact spare part for attaching compatible needle plates. It is attached to the underside of the needle plate and supports its intended hold in the machine. By replacing a missing, bent or worn spring, the needle plate can be reassembled correctly. The original spare part is designed for suitable BERNINA needle plates and is particularly suitable for repairs, regular maintenance and the restoration of older or frequently used machines. Since compatibility depends on the needle plate, machine model and series, the existing spring or the part number should always be checked before purchasing.

Turn off the sewing machine and unplug it before assembly. Then, remove the needle plate according to the instructions for your BERNINA sewing machine. Carefully turn over the needle plate and remove the existing spring or the old mounting screw.

Place the new needle plate spring on the underside of the needle plate in the same orientation as the previous component. Secure it with the appropriate screw, without overtightening. Then, reinsert the needle plate into the machine and check that it lies flat and is securely seated. Before your first sewing project, it is advisable to perform a short test on a scrap piece of fabric.

If the needle plate does not sit correctly despite a new spring, is damaged, or has unusual play, the machine should not be used further and, if necessary, should be inspected by a specialist workshop.
