The threader replaces the broken or bent threader hook on your machine. For replacement, the machine should be carefully laid on its back to give you better access to the threading unit.

Before removal, it is advisable to take a photo of the existing position. This will make it easier for you to check how the assembly needs to be reinserted later.

First, the retaining clip, also known as an E-clip, is carefully removed. Then, the spring is unhooked, and the entire threader assembly is pulled down from the rod. After that, the new threader can be replaced in the assembly.

Before sliding the assembly back onto the rod, the spring should be pulled forward on the hook. This can be done, for example, with a piece of sewing thread. Then, the assembly is reattached, the spring is re-hooked, and the retaining clip is correctly inserted.

After assembly, the function of the automatic threader should be checked. It's best to test the mechanism first without a needle. If everything runs smoothly, insert a suitable needle, ideally larger than NM 70, and check if the thread is reliably guided through the needle eye.
