The Husqvarna VIKING couching and satin stitch foot covers a cord with dense satin stitching to create raised outlines. The guide in the foot keeps the cord positioned beneath the seam.

Sewing raised lines

1. Thread 40-weight embroidery thread as the upper thread and sewing thread as the bobbin thread.
2. Guide the cord through the foot and position the supply so that it feeds evenly.
3. Select a narrow satin stitch; for manual settings, use a stitch length of 0.3–0.5 mm and width of 1.5–2 mm as a starting point.
4. Mark the outline and sew along it.

For compatible Husqvarna VIKING machine groups 1 to 7. Match the stitch width to the cord and test the settings on a scrap first.
