The Husqvarna VIKING 5 mm hemmer foot creates even, narrow hems on lightweight to medium-weight woven fabrics. Its guide rolls the fabric edge while sewing, making it useful for napkins, curtains, ruffles, shirts and lightweight scarves.

Sewing a 5 mm hem

1. Fold the first few centimetres of the seam allowance into a narrow rolled hem.
2. Attach the hemmer foot and select a straight stitch with a stitch length of approximately 2.5–3 mm.
3. Sew a few stitches along the folded edge.
4. Stop with the needle in the fabric, raise the presser foot and feed the fabric edge into the scroll guide.
5. Lower the foot and continue sewing while guiding the fabric edge gently into the guide.

The foot is intended for Husqvarna VIKING machine groups 1 to 7. Check your machine’s group before purchasing.
