Knitting instructions for sneaker socks XENIE (PDF)

These sneaker socks are shorter than standard socks and offer an attractive look for casual or athletic shoes. A small, decorative cuff peeks out interestingly above the heel.

The XenieSocks impress with their sophisticated design from toe to heel. They start with a rounded band toe that perfectly rounds off the socks and enhances their appearance. The heel, known as the Fleegle Heel, is an innovative heel extension that provides sufficient width without slipping.

Use colorful sock yarn scraps for your creations. You decide whether to knit two identical or different socks, depending on your yarn.

Our pattern is suitable for all sizes from 34/35 to 44/45 and is aimed at knitters of all experience levels. With clear instructions and helpful tips, you'll quickly complete your own XenieSocks.

Knitting techniques

As with many of our sock designs, we place particular emphasis on the use of special knitting techniques for XenieSocks:

• The rounded ribbon tip toe up with Turkish stitch cast-on,
• Knit stripes without steps,
• the Fleegle Heel or in other words, the increase heel on the head,
• the two-tone cuff with clear demarcation of the left stitches when changing colors,
• the elastic cast-off

This is what you need for the XenieSocks:

• Depending on the size, a total of 60-100 g of solid-colored sock yarn or gradient yarn (420 m/100 g). This can be three or more different sock yarn remnants or mini skeins.
• 1 circular knitting needle 2.5 mm, 80 cm, possibly 2.75 or 3 mm if you knit tightly
• 1 double-pointed needle or other double-pointed needles 2.5 mm, possibly 2.75 or 3 mm if you knit tightly
• 4 stitch markers
• 1 sewing needle
• 1 pair of scissors
