Knitting pattern for socks WENCKE (PDF)

These adorable WenckeSocks are the perfect companion for chilly days. They enchant not only with their charming jacquard pattern, but also with their durability and sophisticated details. By choosing two contrasting sock yarns, you can knit your own unique WenckeSocks. For our sample socks, we chose tweed yarns available in our shop, giving them a slightly rustic look. The memorable pattern, with just six stitches and six rows per repeat, makes knitting a true pleasure.

WenckeSocks begin with a long cuff, featuring an ingenious fold for added comfort. The popular heart-shaped heel, reinforced with a honeycomb pattern, makes these socks not only pretty but also extremely durable for everyday wear. The gusset stitches are reduced to a triangle on the sole, ensuring a perfect fit. The crowning touch is the enchanting star-shaped toe, making these socks a true knitwear highlight.

Knitting techniques

As with many of my sock designs, I place particular emphasis on the use of special knitting techniques for the WenckeSocks:

• the Italian cast-on with auxiliary thread
• a fold for turning up the cuff
• a catchy jacquard pattern
• the reinforced heart heel with honeycomb pattern reinforcement
• the asterisk tip

This is what you need for the WenckeSocks:

• Regia Tweed sock yarn 420 m/100 g
• 2 m of thread of a different colour, approximately the thickness of sock wool, which can be easily unraveled later;
• 1 circular knitting needle 2.5 mm, 80 cm
• 1 circular knitting needle 3 mm, 80 cm,
  alternatively 1 set of needles or other needles in the specified size;
• 1 crochet hook 3 mm
• 2 stitch markers
• 1 sewing needle
• 1 pair of scissors
