overview

SULKY REFLEX FILM is a high-quality, reflective iron-on film with retro-reflectivity, designed for textiles and embellishment projects where visibility and design are equally important. Small glass lenses are embedded in a resin coating on the surface: when light hits the film, it is reflected back towards the light source almost regardless of the reflector's orientation – a significant safety advantage, especially in the dark. The film is suitable as an iron-on transfer for lettering and designs and can be embroidered. Recommended applications include safety clothing, workwear, sportswear, and children's clothing.

Characteristics

SULKY REFLEX FILM combines high-quality materials and technical sophistication: The combination of polyethylene (35%), polyurethane (12%), and polyester (1%) forms a stable, flexible carrier film, while the glass bead coating (32%) on the surface ensures strong light reflection. Thanks to the retro-reflection principle, incident light is reflected back towards the light source – regardless of the film's orientation – resulting in excellent visibility, especially in the dark. The film is suitable for embroidery and can be used in a variety of applications as an iron-on transfer: Whether for safety jackets, children's clothing, or sports embellishments – the film combines functionality and design. Easy application with an iron or heat press facilitates use in both hobby and commercial settings. At the same time, the material meets the highest standards of quality and product safety, boasting Oeko-Tex certification and GPSR manufacturer specifications.

Application
  1. Pre-iron your textile or fabric piece briefly to remove moisture and wrinkles.
  2. Cut out your design or lettering from the SULKY REFLEX FILM and place it on the fabric with the smooth protective film on top – make sure that the lettering is legible.
  3. Transfer the motif:
  • Using a heat press: approx. 140–160 °C, 8–12 seconds, then press briefly again.
  • With an iron: 2-3 points without steam – better to test beforehand.
  1. Remove the protective film after it has cooled down.
  2. Wait approximately 12 hours after pressing until full adhesive strength is achieved.

Care instructions: Wash your garment inside out. If ironing directly over the design, use a pressing cloth if necessary.
