Sulky Tear Away Plus is a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer with a grammage of 50 g/m². It was specially developed for high-stitch machine embroidery, appliqués, and decorative stitching. Thanks to its strong yet tearable structure, it can be removed cleanly along the seam after stitching without damaging the stitched image.

It is made of 75% cellulose and 25% polyester, is Oeko-Tex certified, vegan, and acid- and lead-free. This makes it skin-friendly, gentle on machinery, and environmentally friendly. Tear Away Plus is available in white and black, as well as in two widths and lengths. It's particularly practical for multiple layers or delicate fabrics when combined with temporary spray adhesive like KK100.

Application
  1. Stretch Tear Away Plus together with your fabric into the embroidery frame, making sure it is drum-tight.
  2. If necessary, fix the fabric to the Tear Away Plus with temporary spray adhesive.
  3. Embroider your desired motif, appliqué or buttonhole.
  4. After embroidering, carefully tear off the stabilizer – ideally along the embroidery edge.
    Your perfect result is ready!

When should I use Tear Away Plus?

Whenever you work with a high number of stitches or need particularly precise results – for example, with appliqués or decorative seams.

How many layers do I need?

For normal fabrics, one layer is sufficient. If you're using particularly fine or stretchy fabrics, you can use two layers or additionally apply spray adhesive.

Can I also use Tear Away Plus on jersey?

For jersey, we recommend a cutaway interfacing or Soft'n Sheer. Tear Away Plus is better suited for woven fabrics and cotton.
