SULKY Tear Easy – Lightweight Tear-Away Stabilizer

SULKY Tear Easy is a lightweight, soft 33 g/m² tear-away stabilizer for fine and lightweight, non-stretch fabrics. It supports machine embroidery, appliqué, monograms, patchwork and quilting and tears away lengthwise, crosswise and diagonally after stitching. Several layers can be used for very fine fabrics.

Available roll sizes: 0,25 m × 10 m (2,5 m²), 0,5 m × 10 m (5 m²), 0,5 m × 25 m (12,5 m²). Please select your preferred size.

Sulky Tear Easyis a high-quality, lightweight tear-away stabilizer suitable for approximately 80% of all embroidery projects. It consists of a special fiber structure made of 90% viscose and 10% polyester with a basis weight of 33 g/m².
The stabilizer stabilizes fine, non-stretch fabrics during the embroidery process and can be removed without leaving any residue afterward. Tear Easy tears gently in any direction—horizontally, vertically, and diagonally—without damaging the embroidery.
Also ideal for multi-layer applications: Depending on the project, you can use 1-3 layers and remove layer by layer without warping or tearing the fabric.

Application

Place 1-3 layers of Tear Easy under your fabric and stretch everything together in the embroidery frame.

Embroider your motif as usual.

After embroidery, the fleece can be easily torn away from the back – layer by layer.

For best results with fine fabrics, satin stitches or appliqués.

Which fabrics is Tear Easy suitable for?

Tear Easy is particularly suitable for fine, non-stretch fabrics such as cotton, linen, or poplin. For stretchy fabrics, we recommend using an iron-on interfacing instead.

How many layers should I use?

For normal projects, one layer is sufficient. For particularly fine fabrics or dense motifs, we recommend two to three layers for better stability.
