overview

TheKai N5350‑P pinking shears (230 mm)from theKai series N5000are professional pinking shears with a serrated edge, specially developed for demanding applications in tailoring, crafts, and hobby work. The blades are made of rust-proof NSSWR-2/AUS6A stainless steel. The surface of the scissors has a satin finish, and the handles are coated with black PU elastomers for a pleasant feel and balanced cutting action. A patented "Duplex Interlock" adjustment screw ensures consistent and precise tension adjustment between the blades. The serrated edge allows for clean cutting of not only textiles and fabrics, but also leather, paper, cardboard, foil, and tarpaulins without unnecessary tearing or bulging of the material. The total length is 230 mm (approx. 9 inches).

Characteristics

The Kai N5350-P pinking shears combine robust materials with high precision: The blades are forged from hard, rust-proof NSSWR-2/AUS6A stainless steel and hardened to a hardness of 56 ± 1 HRC, ensuring durability and sharp cutting edges even with frequent use. The satin finish reduces reflections and facilitates cleaning, while the black PU elastomers in the handle area provide comfort and ensure the scissors sit securely in the hand. The serrated edge not only cuts cleanly but also has a neater finish, reducing fraying. The patented Duplex Interlock adjustment screw allows for precise tension adjustment, ensuring consistent cutting quality and controlled performance on both thin and thick materials. The serration and robust surface make them versatile—suitable for fabrics, leather, paper, cardboard, tarpaulins, and foils—without compromising on precision.

Application

These pinking shears are ideal for neat finishing or when fabric edges need to be given decorative or functional waves – for example, on clothing, curtains, or home textiles. Lay the fabric flat on a cutting mat or flat surface, lightly secure it if necessary to prevent slipping, and cut along the desired line with even pressure and at a shallow angle to the blade. The wavy edge automatically creates decorative, finely serrated edges that won't fray and don't require additional finishing. After use, carefully clean the blade, dry it, and store the scissors in a dry place, ideally in a protective case or scissor holder to protect the edge.
