Which sewing machine is suitable for beginners?

A good beginner sewing machine should suit the projects you really want to make and be easy to operate. Useful features include adjustable sewing speed, clear stitch selection, a reliable automatic buttonhole and readily available accessories. Our finder considers your experience as well as fabrics, project types, space and budget, helping narrow down the choice in our sewing machine collection.

Sewing machine, embroidery machine or combination machine – what is the difference?

A sewing machine joins fabrics with utility and decorative stitches. A dedicated embroidery machine works with digital embroidery files but does not sew standard seams. A combined sewing and embroidery machine offers both functions. In the finder, select the work you want to do and you will only see suitable machine types.

Does an overlocker replace a standard sewing machine?

No. An overlocker trims, finishes and sews fabric edges in one step and is especially useful for stretch fabrics. You still need a standard sewing machine for buttonholes, zips, topstitching and many other tasks. The finder considers which machine you already own and which addition makes sense.

How does the sewing machine finder consider my budget?

You select a realistic budget range. The finder then prioritises technically suitable models from our own range within that budget and clearly labels lower-priced or higher-spec alternatives. This helps you compare not only prices, but also functions, ease of use and suitability for your projects.

Can I try the recommended machines in person?

You can view and try many selected sewing, embroidery and overlock machines in our specialist shop in Hamburg. It is best to book a consultation appointment in advance so that we can prepare suitable models and take time for your questions.
