GUNOLD STIFFY 1650 is a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer for reliable machine embroidery on cotton, polyester, shirt fabrics, blouse fabrics, denim, and jacket fabrics. The 50 g/m² strong non-woven fabric stabilizes the material during embroidery, adds minimal bulk, and can then be torn away almost without residue lengthwise, crosswise, and diagonally.

Application

Cut the embroidery stabilizer so that it adequately fills the embroidery hoop all around. Place the stabilizer under the fabric to be embroidered and stretch both layers together tautly, but not overstretched, into the embroidery hoop.

Then, embroider the desired motif. After embroidering, remove the fabric from the hoop and hold the embroidery firmly while removing the stabilizer. Carefully tear off the excess STIFFY 1650 from the outside towards the edge of the embroidery. Since the stabilizer can be torn lengthwise, crosswise, and diagonally, it can be cleanly removed around the motif.

For delicate fabrics or very fine motif details, the stabilizer should be torn off with particular care and in small sections. A prior test on a fabric remnant is recommended.
