Product information

overview

TheMadeira Super Film Cut & Iron Away (Item 9448)is a heat-sensitive, optional embroidery foil that reliably dissolves upon contact with a hot, dry iron. It is perforated and transparent—perfect for embroidery designs on very delicate fabrics like satin, velvet, or corduroy that wouldn't tolerate tear-away or cut-away stitching. Because it leaves nothing behind, it's ideal for badges, patches, logos, or emblems that are worked without a supporting fabric.

With a width of approximately 30 cm and a length of 5 m (equivalent to approximately 11.8″ × 5 m), a thickness of around 100 μm, and delivered in a practical clamshell container, it can be stored cleanly and safely.

Areas of application:

  • Embroidery on particularly delicate or non-washable materials
  • Embroider badges, patches and logos directly onto the film
  • Spun lace, cut-work or fine embroidery details without fabric backing

Application
  1. Material preparation: Cut the foil to the required length. Stretch it – in multiple layers if necessary – into the embroidery frame. The smooth side is facing up, with two layers of rough on rough, and three layers of rough on smooth.
  2. Embroidery process: Embroider badges, patches or logos directly onto the film or fabric + film together.
  3. Remove the foil: After embroidering, carefully tear off any excess foil or cut it off just along the embroidery edge. Any leftover pieces can be removed with an iron or heat press at approximately 120°C (approximately 10–20 seconds) – work in circular motions.
  4. Result: Your embroidery motifs remain clear, clean, and dimensionally stable – even on delicate or non-washable materials.
