Only when the stitch plate, presser foot, and selected stitch match can sewing begin. This provides a better overview and helps to avoid operating errors – especially when switching between 9mm stitches, straight stitch work, and quilting projects with a 5.5mm BISR stitch plate.

Jumbo stitches for large creative accents

With the new jumbo stitch function, selected stitches can be enlarged by up to 500 percent. Small decorative stitches thus become eye-catching design elements for bags, clothing, home textiles, or quilts.

In embroidery mode, the B 790 ULTRA develops into a particularly versatile tool for computer-guided quilting. Quilt patterns can not only be positioned, enlarged, and rotated, but now can also be adapted more precisely to different surfaces and shapes.

Among the new features is 3-point placement with morphing. This complements the familiar 2- and 4-point placement and is particularly helpful for triangular areas, corners, and unusual quilt segments. Patterns can thus be precisely deformed and placed with a individually defined distance from the edge.

The new cropping function is also particularly interesting for practical use. Quilt patterns can be cropped along a freely defined line or automatically adjusted to the size of the inserted embroidery hoop. This allows patterns to end cleanly at edges, areas to be filled precisely, or overhanging areas to be removed without having to edit the design externally beforehand.

With the "Connect" function, several quilt patterns can also be combined into a continuous pattern. Color changes between individual motifs can thus be reduced or avoided. If start and end points are adjusted accordingly, flowing transitions are created that appear like a continuous quilt pattern.

Save BQM files directly on the machine

With the B 790 ULTRA, BERNINA is also expanding the handling of quilt files. Projects can be saved in BQM format directly in the machine's personal folder. In addition, selected sewing stitches can be used as BQM in embroidery mode.

For creative quilters, this means that their own layouts, adapted patterns, and individual quilting ideas can be developed, saved, and reused directly on the machine. This makes the B 790 ULTRA not only an execution machine but increasingly a creative design tool.

More comfort in daily work

The user interface has also been further developed. When sewing, undo and redo functions for work steps are now available. This includes stitch selection, editing combinations, and adding stitches. This saves time and provides more security, especially when trying out your own stitch combinations or working on elaborate decorative projects.

The BERNINA Help Center is also more strongly integrated into daily work. The operating instructions, quick guide, sewing consultant, and tutorials can be accessed on an external device via Wi-Fi and a QR code.
